Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine practitoners have the unique educational opportunity to learn about and apply cutting-edge testing technology to assess bodily FUNCTION, not just the presence of disease. So often we do not feel well because of less-than-optimal function, and traditional tests do not generally assess for this, leaving many questions unanswered. 

When trying to solve a clinical problem, the question should always be "why"-- particularly if we are in search of the root cause of dysfunction or disease. We like to say Functional Medicine practitioners are the providers of "why" -- if someone says they do not feel well, the answer is not simply "take this." It is, "why are we feeling this way?" and how do we get to correcting that why.

Some appointments we are solving problems with diet, supplements, or labs. Other visits we are discussing blocks to motivation, sleep disturbances impairing our focus on the healing goal, or other challenges that make healing effective. Work with someone who is interested in all. of. it. Mind, body, spirit; like true holistic medicine was designed to be.
